APPLAUSE widens release around the U.S.

World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation brings director Martin Pieter-Zandvliet's award-winning film, Applause, to cities across the U.S. Paprika Steen, winner of the Robert Award (Europe's Golden Globe equivalent) for The Celebration, gives one of the best performances of her career as an alcoholic stage actress who emerges from rehab to confront the choices she made and the family she lost.
  • After a successful opening in New York and Los Angeles, Applause will be opening in cities nationwide, beginning with screens in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Coconut Grove in April.
  • Having already competed at numerous international film festivals, Applause will now be showcased at the European Union Film Festival (Chicago) in March and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival in April.
  • Paprika Steen’s raw portrayal of a woman whose life makes more sense on the stage than it does in the real world has earned overwhelming critical acclaim. Entertainment Weekly’s Lisa Schwarzbaum says, "[Steen] brings a thrilling emotional nakedness and...unsentimental honesty to the part," while The New York Times’ Karen Durbin calls it, “One of the best screen performances of the year.”
